1. Overview
This page provides instructions for users who wish to delete their account and associated data from YPAI Voice, a mobile application developed by YPAI ApS.
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you have downloaded any data you wish to keep before submitting a deletion request.
YPAI Voice is a research tool designed for academic audio data collection. All data is handled in accordance with GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
2. How to Request Deletion
To request deletion of your YPAI Voice account and data, follow these steps:
Include Required Information
In your email, please provide:
- Email address associated with your account (if applicable)
- Participant ID (if you have one)
- Device platform (Android version)
- Subject line: "YPAI Voice - Account Deletion Request"
Confirmation
We will send you a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your request within 2 business days.
Completion
Your account and data will be deleted within 30 days of receiving your request. You will receive a final confirmation email once deletion is complete.
3. What Data Is Deleted
When you request full account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:
✓ Your App Account
Your user account and profile will be deactivated and deleted.
✓ Voice Recordings
All audio recordings linked to your account will be permanently deleted from our storage servers (Cloudflare R2).
✓ Profile Information
Any associated profile data, including participant ID and metadata, will be removed.
✓ Usage Logs
Activity logs that can reasonably identify you will be deleted.
✓ Device Identifiers
Any device-specific identifiers linked to your account will be removed.
4. What May Be Retained
In accordance with legal and security requirements, we may retain certain data:
Retained Data (Anonymized)
- Aggregated statistics that cannot reasonably identify you (e.g., total number of recordings per month)
- Security logs required for fraud prevention and legal compliance (retained only as long as necessary)
- Research metadata in fully anonymized form (no participant ID, no device identifiers)
Important: All retained data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to your identity.
Data Encryption
All data (both during use and deletion) is encrypted:
- In transit: TLS 1.3 encryption
- At rest: AES-256 encryption
Future Use of Deleted Data
Once deletion is processed, your data will no longer be used for any purpose, including research or analytics.
5. Processing Timeline
Day 1-2: Acknowledgment
You receive a confirmation email acknowledging your deletion request.
Day 3-30: Processing
Our team processes your request, verifies your identity, and initiates the deletion workflow across all systems.
Day 30: Completion
You receive a final confirmation email once all data has been permanently deleted.
Processing time: Requests are processed within 30 days in accordance with GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure).
